UEL computing team wins NESTA Futurelab Design Challenge 2005: A team of computing and technology students from the University of East London (UEL) has been named as joint winners of the prestigious Design Challenge 2005 competition run by NESTA Futurelab, for their Kampus project, a virtual-reality game to help teach Citizenship in schools.
Thirteen teams from across the UK battled it out in the finals of Design
Challenge 2005, working over just three days to design an interactive learning
software package on the theme of ‘Hard Fun: Making the Difficult Playful’.
The winners were announced at a champagne reception held at the educational
technology show, BETT 2005, at the Olympia Exhibition Centre, London, on
12th January.
